Hear a Rattling Sound? Could Be the Bushings

Rattling Noise - Could be the Bushings

Your car's suspension relies on a system of supports, springs, bolts, brackets and bushings. The first of all of these things to wear out is the bushings. Bushings are small rubber pieces that bridge the gap between stiff metal suspension pieces to take the rattle out of your car's ride. Unfortunately, when they wear out things do start to rattle.

If your suspension is feeling a little loose and sloppy, especially the steering, you might want to try having the suspension bushings replaced. It can make a huge difference in many cases. Also, it never hurts to replace them on a high-mileage vehicle.
